PRESS RELEASE September 3, 2001

We will be hosting a Technical Assistance-clinic with the Whitehouse Faith-Based Staff. Sept. 20 th from 1-4am, we will meet at 1615 3rd Street N.W., Washington, D.C.

You are invited personally to come and join us as we again gather across denominational and cultural lines with the principle faith based leaders of our region. We will be having a 90 minute session at mid-point, which will point out all of the flaws in which most teams side line their proposals for Block-Grants. Where is the funding for “those teams” who have already been able to link others in their geographical area’s?

If we are ever going to get a “clear picture of “what works and what doesn’t”, this will be the time.

Many of you know that Jim Towey is now the “new” Faith Based Liaison for the White house. HE is over all the Cabinets separate Faith Based offices. Bobby Polito Is the Department of Health’s-Faith-based liaison. Bobby was at the Mid-Atlantic Compassion Ministries Launch, July 11 at congress. He liked what he saw and offered to partner with us in the training of the teams, into their next level. He is the overseer to the Capital Compassion Fund, which gives funding to Networks who link providers. Even though it is only 30 million dollars, we believe that the insights we will learn at this session/clinic will far surpass that initial funding source.

Registration by Sept 1 will be $25 to cover the cost of this lunch/clinic. Please call the number below to secure your registration.

A late lunch (early dinner) will be provided at 4:00 for those who will be networking and linking to the advisory teams. As the freeway’s will be locked down from 4-6, we intend to have a short board meeting afterwards. We will also have a session for linkage with our advisory teams, afterwards. Please identify your team leaders from Native American, Latin American, Corporate Empowerment, and Home Security backgrounds, who would like to link to these various teams. We will need to have a couple of coordinators (4-5) from each of the states teams who would be willing to be trained by Red-Cross, at the 4:00 break out. We are preparing so that during times of Crises each area will have some key crises coordinators for the Public service teams to link with. These will join our Disaster Relief team, for Crises Response. Do you have members would you like to volunteer for that training? Please signify in your response, about this, as well.
